Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Fragmented Friday

I don't know who came up with the very first Fragmented Friday, but I sure am glad they did! For over a week words have escaped me. This morning I decided words or no words I will post a Fragmented Friday post here and a photo shoot preview on my photography blog. Staring at the blank posting template all that came to mind was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Ever one that has ever seen Mary Poppins knows that is what you say when you don't know what to say, and you know what? She was right!

Super
Here a couple of recent super cute shots. The first is of Sissy's super short super cute haircut.
On Valentine's Day little Bubba gave his Grandpa a Valentine card. Worried that the cat's might knock the card off he asked his Aunt to tape the card to Grandpa's urn. His super sweet gesture brought tears to our eyes.

cali
Okay, I know this isn't a photo of Cali but, every time I venture to the beach here in Virginia I am reminded of all the fun I had at the beaches in California when I was growing up.

fragilistic
How is it that when children sleep they look so angelic and fragile (fragilistic)? Here Sissy passed out in my computer chair after a long morning of house cleaning.

expia (short for expiate?)
First a little back story on this next set of photos. My Son-In-Law (Mr.G) loves to collect flags and old signs, which he then hangs on various walls around the house. Mrs. G, my daughter, tries to discourage such behavior. Because as she says the walls are full! The stair well has two full size flags both US Navy flags. The office has two more full size flags and an original ships crest (approximately 5'x9'). Mr. & Mrs. G's bedroom has another full size flag above the head of their bed and there are two full size American Flags on flag poles. One stands in the corner of the office and the other in the corner of the living room.
When Mr. G got home from being underway for a month and said he had a surprise in his sea bag we all gathered around. Thus the hand on the forehead by Sissy and not so thrilled look on Mrs. G's face, as he pulled out yet another flag. But he insisted that this one was special. Not only was this one a Battle Ensign but it was the RFBBE (Really F*** Big Battle Ensign) and was expiate (obsolete).

Of course he had to give us a better idea just how big it was, so Sissy helped him pull some of it out of the bag.
Here he showed me a photo of the flag being flown on his ship.

lidocious
Now for my last BIG REACH. (said with a smile) Webster's Dictionary defines lido as 'a fashionable beach resort' and the adjective suffix 'aceous' as 'characterized by' or 'having the form of'. So for me lidocious comes close to lidoaceous which would of course mean having the form of or characterized by a fashionable beach resort. Now is that a big reach or what? Here goes an even bigger reach.
Not exactly a beach resort, but hey it is the beach and there are Condo's.
So there you have it, my
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Fragmented Friday!

Oh my that little girl was so brave to cut that hair. It does look adorable!
I'm glad my husband collects maps instead of flags. I'm not really happy about the maps.
That flag is special but wow he might have to build a castle to keep it.
I love the smile:)
Great Fragments!!

That is one awesome flag!!! We have friends who somehow got a hold of the flag that flew over the SC capital bldg during the era of Gpa's something. They gave it to him for a gift. Super cool!!! I like flags :-)

Love the post and the Poppins tie in. What a cute haircut, very brave to go that short so suddenly :-)

I believe our very own Barb, Mrs 4444 is the originator of Friday Frags

You really worked on this one, Nita. And your photos of Sissy are outstanding. I get the feeling I know her like the kid next door.

These are some pretty creative fragments, my friend! Love the adorable haircut, and I must compliment you on your terrificly-straight horizon line on your beach photo (crooked ones are one of my pet peeves) Thanks for linking up!

For what it's worth, I started FF in 2007, when I started blogging, and 237 FF posts later, I've never had anyone try to take the claim from me. Join in any time! :)

LOL, he definitely needs a mansion for all his collections. My husband use to collect maps and flags, thankfully he never tried to hang them all up. Thanks for stopping by and for your comment
